Knox Grammar – Child Porn and Drugs
Yet another Knox Grammar teacher has been recently found embroiled in a child sexual abuse scandal. Nicholas Warby was arrested by police on Monday afternoon the 5th August 2019 for child porn and drugs.
The 30 year old man has been in a teaching role at Knox Grammar since 2017 as Director of Aquatic Sports according to his Linked-In profile. The arrest occurred after a mobile phone device that allegedly belonged to the accused was found at the schools aquatic centre in Wahroonga. This device was subsequently inspected and found to contain a large amount of child sexual abuse material and/or images.
Police were immediately called to the school to investigate. Furthermore, a warrant was issued for use by police to search Mr Warby’s home. Conduct of the search resulted in a number of electronic storage devices which will be further scrutinised for illegal child sexual abuse material.
Furthermore, a search of Mr Warby’s car resulted in police finding possible illegal substances. Upon initial investigation these substances are believed to be GHB and crystal methamphetamine (meth) commonly known as Ice.
Apparently a letter was sent to parents today that was issued by the current headmaster, Mr Scott James, stating that he was advised that none of the abuse images contained Knox boys or swim students from the aquatic centre.
He further states, “Knox Grammar School is now recognised at the gold standard for protection of those in our care and we will not hesitate to contact police and remove staff who fail to follow our Code of Conduct and the law.”
Mr Warby, the accused, was previously employed with the NSW Department of Education. His role at this institution was as a primary school teacher where he was employed for approximately 4 years.
We have represented many former students of Knox Grammar who have been victims at the hands of child sexual abuse offenders. Koffels Solicitors believe deeply in providing a safe community for our children. Due to our ability to represent victims effectively and provide compensation, we hope to raise a greater awareness surrounding such events. This with the aim of reducing the possibility of future occurrences of sexual abuse and violent crime.
The accused was refused bail last night and remains in custody.
It was only several months ago that Kyle Daniels, 20, who was a swim coach at the Mosman swimming pool and former prefect at Knox Grammar was arrested for 36 counts of child sex charges. These included abuse of a seven-year-old child.
To this end, Koffels Solicitors & Barristers have made substantial headway into providing support and compensation for those individuals who have suffered through sexual abuse. Due to the fact we are working with victims on a regular basis, we see first hand and understand the incredible impact that this abuse has on the life of an individual.
In many cases the offences were brought to the attention of superiors yet no action was taken against these predators. The very real difficulties so far in life that have arisen as a direct result of the abuse will form part of the compensation that we will seek on your behalf.
