Ross Koffel from Koffels attended the annual Sydney China Business Forum at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney. Further this was as presented by the University of Sydney China Studies Centre.  This years’ focus was on smart cities. Its focus was on how China is developing new technology and programs to address  infrastructure, communications, social and environmental issues across their massive population and geography.

A comparison was made between China’s new technology and Australia’s current projects in the same areas. In particular there was discussion on renewable energy sources, water conservation and soil regeneration. Representatives of these growing industries presented these examples.

Clearly this was a demonstration of not just Austral-Asian concerns but global ones that relate to us all and how legal services too are a part of facilitating the global conversation and exchange of ideas and technology.

We look forward to visiting the China Business Forum again next year.
