NSW Scouts Abuse

The High Court today has delivered a catastrophic blow to all victims of childhood sexual abuse by religious clergy, brethren, and volunteers such as Scouts Australia and Surf Lifesaving clubs.

Kim Richard Harvey was a boys scout leader charged with molesting children in Victoria during the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s and faced 48 historic child sex offense charges.

John William Alcorn, an 84-year-old former Scout leader in northern NSW, has been convicted of 16 historical child sexual abuse offenses spanning several decades.

The allegations against Hulsman included inappropriate touching and other forms of indecent behavior with boys under his supervision. These actions reportedly took place during scouting activities, such as meetings and camping trips.
