Police arrested a 67 year old man at his house in Woolooware, Sydney in relation to institutional child sex abuse charges. He was charged with indecently assaulting a female student at the primary school in Sydney’s south-west more than 40 years ago.
It is reported that detectives have been investigating said allegations of sexual abuse since 2017. These incidents allegedly had occurred at Clement Park primary school in the 1970’s.
It was alleged that the teacher had indecently assaulted the student on numerous occasions at the school.
He was charged as Sutherland Police Station and released. The man was given conditional bail and is to appear at Sutherland Local Court on the 15 of August next.
Initially the allegations were raised at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Police said investigations were continuing and they “encourage any person who has been a victim of any kind of sexual violence, no matter how long ago the incident occurred” to come forward.
