Ross & Julia Koffel get as close to the racing industry’s “Golden Slipper” trophy as they could ever have hoped to be
Ross and Julia Koffel were the guest of the Commonwealth Bank at the Business of Racing Lunch. The lunch was hosted by the Sydney Turf Club, and the Western Sydney Chamber of Commerce at Rosehill Racecourse.
Guest speakers included the top racehorse trainer Chris Waller. He who spoke of his miracle horse “Winx” who will run for her 4th win in the George Ryder Stakes on Golden Slipper day on the 23rd March. The record breaking mare is going for 32 straight wins in a row. Also present were representatives of the well-known Inglis Thoroughbred Sales. Also Denise Martin, founder of Star Thoroughbreds, a former Golden Slipper winner.
In fact, the Golden Slipper is the world’s richest race for 2 year olds worth over $3.5 million. Additionally it brings international competitors from around the globe to compete. With the appearance of “Winx” the race meet is already a sold out affair. Given that her final race will be in April of this year before she is retired from racing after a world record racing achievement.
