Call for Witnesses: Noel Greenaway at Ormond School (1973–1974)
Koffels Solicitors and Barristers is currently seeking information from anyone who recalls
Noel Greenaway, who served as a staff member at Ormond School between June 1973 and January 1974.
Ormond School, located in Westleigh, formed part of a broader network of NSW government-run institutions for young people. The site underwent several name changes over time, including
- Thornleigh Girls’ Home,
- Thornleigh Training School for Girls,
- Ormond Training School and later the
- Ormond Regional Youth Centre.
These institutional shifts make witness accounts especially important when reconstructing events from the early 1970s.
Why Your Information Matters
Civil claims involving historical institutional child sexual abuse rely heavily on witness information, as official records from this era are often incomplete. Recollections from former students, staff or community members can assist in establishing staffing, routines, behaviours or concerns relevant to a Survivor’s civil compensation claim.
