Call for Witnesses

We are seeking information from anyone who attended Sunday School at Castle Hill Baptist Church or youth camps run by Castle Hill Baptist Church in the late 1990s.

We would like to hear from anyone who may have information relevant to a sexual abuse matter involving a youth worker during that period.

If you have any details about the conduct of staff or volunteers, church activities, youth group events, or camps from the late 1990s, your information—no matter how small it may seem—could assist ongoing investigations and help other Survivors.

Who We’re Hoping to Hear From

• Former Sunday School attendees, youth group members, and participants at church-run camps and holiday programs in the late 1990s
• Parents, caregivers, and family members who recall church activities or any concerns raised at the time
• Former staff, youth leaders, volunteers, or camp organisers
• Anyone with relevant documents—such as permission slips, camp brochures, letters, diaries, or photos—that could help establish dates or identify individuals

Why Information from the 1990s Still Matters Today

There is no limitation period for civil actions relating to child abuse in New South Wales. Survivors can therefore come forward at any time to share information or seek accountability.

Religious institutions are now subject to stronger child-safety obligations under the Reportable Conduct Scheme and the Child Safe Scheme, both overseen by the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian. These frameworks set out how allegations are handled and reported.
