Koffels is honoured to have the consultative services of Justice Ralph H. Zulman (Retired).
Today, former Judge Zulman focuses his practice on mediation and arbitration, with a special interest in cross-border insolvency disputes. He was directly concerned with the drafting of the United Nations Model Law on Cross Border Insolvency that has now been substantially adopted in the U.S. and elsewhere, and is a world recognised authority in the area.
Having spent nearly 20 years on the Supreme Court of South Africa, the latter half in the Court’s Appellate Division, Mr Zulman offers a wealth of professional experience. He has chaired numerous boards, committees and organizations related to judicial issues, and is presently a member of the International Insolvency Institute, the Editorial Board of Annual Survey of South African Law, and is the elected Director of the Professional Provident Society. He is an Honorary Fellow of The Centre for applied Legal Studies (London), and the Arbitration Association of South Africa. He is a member of; the Professional Provident Society, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and a founding member of the International Insolvency Association.
